  • Take a look at item 1599858894, 2 Led USB Laptop Light (Black), Trap Clam: Gp053-001-23 (Hardcover), only $9.99. I bought it and am very pleased. Just right amount of light and quality construction.

  • Received my order promptly. The light does what I wanted however I would recommend for future manufacture a small “hood” over the bulb which would stop any glare from the side.

  • Nov. 5, 2009: Ok, so I was just browsing my Amazon profile, actually looking for a LOGOUT button, but Amazon seems to hide it. Anyway, I stumbled upon my review of this LED light and thought I could add a little note since I am here. My light is still working…barely. I am down to 3 out of 7 LED’s. Still lights keyboard barely enough but, as stated previously, I would just stay away from this joke of a light. Maybe I’ll add one more comment when it dies altogether…maybe.

(11/5/09) OK, ONE MORE NOTE: the item pictured that I “supposedly” purchased is NOT the correct item. My light has a flexible stem with a round flashlight style housing at the end, not the long array of lights as this picture seems to show. Don’t know why the item missmatch but be aware of this. Maybe Amazon doesn’t even carry my item anymore; I haven’t checked on this. The item I purchased looks very much like ASIN # B0002AKX6Y, Mini USB LED Lamp Light Flexible Travel for PC Notebook.

Last update: May 6, 2009. A second light has now died. Still enough light to function but obviously this product is not holding up. I contacted the seller but did not receive any return comments. Avoid this product, try another and cross your fingers. LED’s are touted as having such long life so the only reason these should be failing is if they are junk LED’s to begin with. NOTE: Hey Amazon, why don’t you let me change my star rating??

Update: April 26, 2009. My light has developed a couple issues. One, although the neck itself remains stiff and in position, where the neck goes into the usb housing, that part has gotten loose. The light therefore would slowly swivel down to the table. I fixed this with a little clear super glue. The second issue happened the next day whereby the light started flickering. Turns out the center LED was slowing going out and finally went off. After removing light and letting cool a bit, the center LED came on again. But, shortly after (seconds) it flickered and went out.

Now, even with 6 led’s working the light still is very functional and plenty bright. However, after such promise I am disappointed that it started to exhibit problems. I would now have to downgrade score to 3 to 4 stars.

Original review: I ordered this light on 3/3/09, was scheduled to receive it between 3/9/09 and 3/12/09 but received it on 3/6/09! I was shocked; so fast. The company is located in California, I am in Ohio.

The light turns out to be plenty bright to light all the way across the keyboard, has a stiff enough housing to keep light in desired position and seems to be working fine so far.

Some people have downrated some of these lights because they don’t have an on/off switch. I personally don’t know why that is such an issue as you can just pull it out of the USB slot, not hard to do! So far, very happy with purchase. ~~ March 6, 2009
