Let me say this. I was excited about coming home to another awaiting amazon.com box on my porch. Got off work and drove home and there it was, waiting for me. Like I expected. Grabbed the box and ran inside to open my newly arrived gift to myself. Opened the box and my expression turned to that of disappointment.
I was expecting something more. I was expecting a bag that would hold several of my books (Not novels, textbooks sized books). Maybe my laptop. This bag at first glance reminded me of my wife’s purse. Not something I want strapped to my back. So I placed the bag back into the plastic protective bag. Logged into Amazon and printed my return label and ordered another bag.
So to let everyone know the size of this bag. It is the classic Timbuk2 Message Bag XS (extra small) with a Timbuk2 Kindle Sleeve attached to the inside of it. Now having already bought the Timbuk2 Sleeve I didn’t need another sleeve that is permanently attached to a bag that could be mistaken for my wife’s purse.
Once the return label was printed I immediately visited Timbuk2′s website to compare the size of the Extra Small Classic Messenger Bag to the Medium (normal) Classic Messenger Bag. After comparing the sizes I headed back to Amazon.com and ordered the Medium Class Messenger Bag.
To actually give this product and the products of Timbuk2 an actual review I would say that this bag constructed very well and out of great materials.
Overall a great bag. Just not a great bag for me.

I took a chance and purchased it on the chance that my Kindle 1 (the Origional one) would fit. It does perfectly. Before I purchased I read the reviews and a gentleman
said he wished it had a handle as well as the over the shoulder strap. If you shorten the strap (it comes with an adjustable strap that locks to a shorter configuration) it works great as a briefcase. I love it, I put all of my electronic equipment in it and take it everywhere.

The Kindle Messenger Bag is a perfect companion for the “Kindle and moleskine” crowd – those who need a bag to carry a few things around town or who need a practical man-purse. The pocket dangles in the middle of the bag, attached to the sides, and fits the Kindle very well (note, however, that if you have a cover on your kindle it can be difficult to fit). Inside organizer panel features a couple of iphone-sized slots, a velcro pocket, and a zipper compartment, and the outside front of the bag has a smaller card pocket with a key leash. The strap is permanently sewn to the bag and has the Timbuk2 cam on one end for easy adjustment – seems like overkill in a bag this small. The strap pad is big and stiff – takes up almost half the strap length – but may become more flexible with use. Lots of velcro for flap closure along with plastic buckles keeps the bag nice and closed. Not sure it’s worth the sixty-five dollars I paid for it – much more like a forty-dollar item, but if you are looking for a stylish way to carry your kindle and a few other items, this mini-messenger bag is a great way to do it…

I received this bag as a gift from a very thoughtful cousin. He knows I have a Kindle and bought this bag for me to schlep it and all my other stuff with. I opened it and loved it….UNTIL I tried to fit my Kindle in the pocket and found it will not fit with the leather Kindle case. I am hard of things and can’t imagine carrying my beloved Kindle without it’s protective case. So, for me, while this bag is awesome and perfect for many, it’s just not the bag for my Kindle and me.
